Eagle Shield Eco-Smart Solar Attic Fans
Attic Venting is Important
Attic venting is an important aspect in maintaining a healthy, energy-efficient home. Proper venting cools your attic and roof extending the material life and reducing the load on your air conditioning system. Attic venting also increases fresh air circulation which reduces vapor build up generated by everyday activities like showering and cooking.
Solar Attic Fans are simple and environmentally sensible solutions that can save you money on your home energy bills. Powered completely by free solar energy, these sleek and efficient fans are both compact and quiet. Eagle Shield offers two types of solar attic fans depending on your home’s structure.
Both models are fully operational right from the box and install quickly and easily, with no electrical wiring, no expensive electrician and no city permits.
Eagle Shield offers two models of roof-mounted solar attic fans: the Eagle Shield 10W SAF and 20W SAF.
The 20-watt solar attic fan offers output up to 1,200 CFMs with a venting capacity up to 1,800 square feet.
Eagle Shield offers two models of gable-mounted solar attic fans. Model 10WG SAF is a 10-watt fan, and Model 20WG SAF offers 20 watts. Our gable-mounted fans can be installed on the inside of your attic if you have current existing gable-type vents. This solar vent offers several advantages including appearance, performance, and ease of installation.
The Eagle Shield 10W SAF and 20W SAF are extremely powerful. A single Eagle Shield 10-watt solar attic fan can fully vent up to 1,200 square feet, operating at up to 850 cubic feet per minute (CFM).
Eagle Shield gable-mounted solar attic fans are installed on the inside face of any existing gable vent. Once installed, it’s simply a matter of adjusting the solar panel to optimize the fan’s performance.
Live More Comfortably
Did you know that in the summer months the temperature in your attic can exceed 160°? Unfortunately, your home’s small roof vents do little to dissipate this heat. That means that your attic acts as a furnace, sending all of that excess heat back into your living spaces. This means both higher temperatures and energy bills to combat the heat build up.
In the winter, your home’s heating system traps hot air in your attic which can melt the snow that accumulates on your roof. As the water trickles down, it refreezes at the cooler eaves, leading to destructive and costly ice damming.
Whatever the season, your fan will run from morning to night without using a single watt of electricity. As the air in your attic circulates continuously through the day, the temperature drops by 10 to 20 degrees. Depending on your climate, you may not even have to run your air conditioner on the hottest summer days.
Reduce Your Energy Bills
Eagle Shield solar attic fans can lower your air conditioning bills considerably. When your attic temperatures rise in the summer, proper ventilation can reduce those high temperatures by up to 20°F. No matter how much insulation is in the attic, heat can still transfer into adjacent living spaces. In fact, extra insulation can actually add to temperature increases because heat is trapped in the insulation. Proper ventilation evacuates this excess heat build-up. As the heat is exhausted, the work load of the air conditioning system is reduced, thereby saving energy and extending the life of the air conditioning system.
